It has been a long time since I've done anything fun. Work took up a whole lot of time, and I didn't have much life, but I squeezed in one weekend for go-karting with the people from Singapore Car Enthusiast (SCE).

A little bit of background of how SCE came about, it's a Facebook car group that the boyfriend created, initially out of boredom, however, it's manifested into a group full of amazing and fun people. It's a group whereby they mainly share their love for cars, no selling stuff on their Facebook page, meet-ups to chat and plainly have fun.

For this short trip, they decided on going to JB for go-karting. They chose Permas Go-Kart Club, and it's in Plentong (wherever in JB that is?..). The ride there was hell bumpy. I mean, you already know how the roads in JB are (not as shabby as I've always thought), but when you reach near the go kart track, you have to drive through a plantation, which means bumpy roads, muddy if you go on a rainy day. If you do drive a lowered car, I would suggest not to drive there, you'd probably have to end up taking out your bumper and putting it in your boot.

We car pooled there, there isn't a need to drive so many cars there anyway.

Cost: RM35 for about 5-10 minutes.
Fun Rating: 9/10

Above I stated the cost it is, per person, per go kart. It is REALLY REALLY fun, I mean it is about the same as driving, but in the go kart track, you can go full throttle! Asides from the fact that you should never crash the go-kart. They will make you pay exorbitant amount for the damages caused, which probably isn't even that much.

Heads up to the girls out there, dump sunblock on yourself and go out there and have tons of fun. Nothing stops you from having fun, just lather a thick layer of sunblock and you're ready to go, don't miss out the fun that the guys are having!


It's amazing how we can meet new and amazing friends through such manner.

2013 was a great year for everything! A great end to my studies, graduating with a BA (hons) in Fine Arts, displaying my works during the graduation show, having my mum and boyfriend attending my convocation late September. Celebrating as many of my friend's 21st, celebrating my own in conjunction with boyfriend's birthday, a lovely close knit party. Attending my best bud's POP and red beret parade, spending loads of time with him as well before we had our shag days.

Re-connected with friends whom I haven't met or spoke to in a long time, gathered with my boyfriend's awesome group of friends (who always make fun of me and boyfriend's relationship). Took our back-to-back trip to Taiwan and Ko Samui, loved those places and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Came back to Singapore, and finally found a job.

Started my new job, had way much lesser time to spend with my boyfriend, but we've hung on for 3 months already, and today, my boyfriend just told me it's time to find a new job.



Just joking!!!! I'm sure, whatever happens in 2014, I'd make it a better year. Who cares about resolutions? I'll just live the life I want to. NO NEW YEAR, NEW ME BULLSHIT. Wishing everyone happiness and a great year ahead!

P.s: Growing old doesn't seem like a glorious matter after you've hit 21. 

Thanks mum for supporting me all throughout my 4 years in college, although you didn't agree with my choice of study, putting all aside, you stood by my decision, and told me to brave on. This is all really corny and all, but without my parents, I couldn't go this far. I didn't only do this for myself, but to make my parents proud. My dad who wanted to go but accidentally got the dates mixed up, couldn't make it, and I'm sure he wanted to go, without him I might have felt lost sometimes. He was the one who carried my locker and things to school at the beginning of every semesters, and transported all the stuff back after every semesters. He helped me set-up for assessments when time permitted him to do so (and if I needed help). All in all, thank you for being the greatest parents and supporting my dreams although they seem to be so far away (and expensive dream).


With my best friend, Gail, for the past 3 years that we've known each other, from strangers to best friends, it's been my greatest honour. Thanks for being there for me throughout the last 2 years of our studies, for motivating, nagging, and helping me. It's all to make me a better student, I'm glad to have graduated together with you.

To my greatest boyfriend for being the most supportive and encouraging person towards me. For years he's come down during my assessments to help me set-up, slaving his off days and leaves away for me in school. The final year of school was the toughest because motivations were low and school just got tiring, but he's been giving me motivation, encouraging me through my final leg, and finally getting up there with my Bachelors, made me proud of myself. There's just so many things that Nigel's done for me, and I really appreciate everything. Watching me grow up might just be the most entertaining thing in his life, and being beside me all the while might me your proudest moments (maybe?), but your love for me has made me seen so much more, and grown up. Thanks love.

So anyway, watched her did her make up at THE MAKE UP STORE, paragon, which I personally thought was... passable. Their eyeliner didn't really last on fat's eye (oily lids), but it's up to personal preference then again. I'm someone who would go for something really natural and nude, which actually means not much make up needed, and I'm able to do it myself. Just for the girls, the make-up session is roughly 45 minutes, and the price of a make up session is $50.

My best friend was mostly concerned about boyfriend and I because we weren't from the same clique as the people she invited. We did however meet them before, held conversations and all, but fats was just worried that we'd feel out of place. Which is always the problem when inviting different groups of people to your 21st birthday party.  But, the night was good, the guys talked to Nigel a lot, and I was getting along well with the girls too! I love the clique of girls because they have a great sense of humour, and they have that ability to dissipate any sense of awkwardness.


By the way, dinner only started at 9.30pm at Chili's, and cake cutting in the room at 12am. It's so crazy. I guess everything got delayed mainly because we couldn't get a reservation, and it took them some time to get a table of about 17 people ready. Anyway, the total for the 17 people dinner only came up to about $570, which I thought was a pretty reasonable amount, considering my 21st birthday combined with boyfriend's 25th birthday and a number of 12 people, came up to about $550. The food at chili's has insane portion as well, so if you're not a big eater, find someone else to share a meal with you!

And the best part of the night came.. OPENING PRESENTS!!!! I love watching people open the presents that I get, it's their reactions when they open their presents that are priceless.

Happy 21st Birthday my dearest girl! Like the card which expressed our friendship, we had our ups and downs, and it made it more definite about our existence and roots planted in each other's life. The support and assurance you've given me throughout made me this strong, it watered our friendship and now the flowers are blooming (so cheesy). I thank you for being in my life and entertaining my so much with your bimbo-ness, we all have those moments, with you, it's just 10 times the normal moments. What I wanted to say, was all in the card, I just hope with all my heart that you've loved the present, and that you've enjoyed yourself that day. Your happiness is all that matters, remember that, and, that I'll always be here, whether or not you need me.

Playing with nostalgic elements such as playgrounds in Singapore, and the contrast of a child and an adult, an adult attempting to put themselves into a child’s perspective. With the memories we have for playgrounds, we explore the details of the mosaics that in present time children have overlooked these intricate designs.

The departure point for this project would be to expand on the perspective of looking at the playground, more to the idea of collectiveness and mosaic, a response of the whole idea, the audience personal view and reaction towards nostalgia. It however, has moved on towards the fusion of memories and reality.

As we grow up, our environment and the buildings that we live in becomes our playground. The things we do as adults become our play objects. We see math as playing with numbers, we see art as playing with colours.

Through “echo”, our childhood memories unify with our present lives to make us who we are, creating new memories for us, and letting us view the world in a different perspective. That consists of joy, happiness and fun that seem to be lost in the many lives of growing up, due to high standards of living.

It is about how we hold on to the parts of our past as we face our future; how we want them to be part of our future, but only remember them when time permits us to do during our busy schedules.












Lastly, to my boyfriend, for the support that he has given me for the past 2 and a half years. Helping me set-up my works for assessments, making sure that I'm as happy as I can be during the most stressful weeks before assessments. Encouraging me through the toughest last year of college, times when I had doubts about myself and my works, times when I was on the verge of giving up drawing altogether. Although he probably never had a clue what I was EVER doing, his support never once wavered, and all I needed was that one vote of confidence in me. Thank you. Even though he wasn't able to attend my graduation show, every single time I sent him a picture that I took, he complimented me. Noticing that new dress and shoes, the way I did my hair and make-up, it all made up for not being able to be here. Thank you for never failing to make me feel special.

Came from my 2 best friends, something I urgently needed because I ran out of foundation already, and coincidentally, I was searching to buy the Chanel foundation. It wasn't really coincidental though, because best texted my sister to find out which colour matched my tone and all. And best, being who she was, really blur, contacted my sister SOOOO many times. It was hilarious. Thank you the both of you, my secondary school life wouldn't be as exciting and fun if not for the 2 of you.

Boyfriend: "I have something for you."Me: "What?!?!? Really?" (In the state of shock because he kept telling me for weeks he didn't get me anything)Boyfriend: "Yeah. I bought you something from Sephora." *Hands me a Sephora paper bag**Opens the bag*Me: "O.M.G. OMG.. You bought me a Salvatore Ferragamo wallet?!?!?"*Opened up the box*Me: "OMG. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!"Boyfriend: "Okay. My heart just stopped for awhile, cause I don't know if you'll like it."

I not just simply liked it, I LOVED IT!!!!! It's super expensive, but also, I've had my eyes on a Ferragamo for quite awhile already, but because the wallet I was using was not in a bad condition, I didn't have a reason to buy a new wallet.

And the thing was, I never told him I've had my eyes set on a Ferragamo wallet. The last time I went shopping with my bestfriends, I went to have a peek at the wallets, but never did I mention it again. And he just went to get me one. Feeling super touched and blessed once again, as I type this.


He heard that we've lost our S.E.A Aquarium tickets (but didn't get updates that we later found them back), and thoughtfully bought us a pair of tickets! I totally appreciate the thought, because although he was so busy with army, he still managed to get us a present. So, if you're reading, thank you for being such a sweet friend, and I totally appreciate it. More free entry to places!!!!!!
