Talks over dinner at Manbok Korean BBQ at Neil Road, which was totally amazing. It IS authentic Korean food in Singapore for a pretty affordable price I could say. Love the tender beef, the kimchi and in fact EVERYTHING about that place. The staffs were really friendly, cooked our food for us, tolerated the amount of noise we were making, and kept asking us if everything was good.

YES!!! EVERYTHING IS GOOD!!! I LOVE YOU GUYS SO MUCH!!!

No photos at the place because after work beauty, is no beauty at all. Also, the food came in slowly, so I couldn't take food pictures anyway. And I actually gobbled down my food the minute it came, been doing that too often food pictures have just been omitted in the regime.

As it was in my title, the national day/hari raya holiday was a long weekend, after rotting at home for the longest time, boyfriend and I decided on a good meal! It all started with a craving, a craving for steak, the suggestions we got from his friends were all REALLY expensive steak houses, which we weren't too keen on busting for a day with no special event. We finally settled for coastal settlement which had many extreme reviews. People either really liked the food there or really hated it.

First things first, I LOVE the ambience of the place, with vintage looking decorations and old school beetles parked right outside. I love those details to bits. Anyway, we walked in without reservation, and I think it is pretty easy to get seats, however, less attention gotten by the servers there.

That is just the cute old school painted wooden window panes, wooden chairs, and as seen in the above photo, there's bicycles! Moving on..

Boyfriend ordered ribs ($34) which was a full rack, and tasted pretty awesome. The ribs were moist enough, not as dry as the ones we had at Chilis. I ordered medium rare rib-eye steak with rosti ($32), my steak came as medium well-done, didn't bother to ask them to redo my steak because we waited 30 minutes for our food to be served. We were really insanely hungry already, I couldn't be bothered to wait another 30 minutes for my steak, so I stuck to my medium well-done steak. If my steak was medium rare, everything about the dish would have been perfect, I think it passes off as a pretty good steak.

All in all, I think Coastal Settlement passes off as a place for a good date or a chill out place, IF you're not too hungry and willing to wait quite awhile for your food to arrive.

A super back-dated post (best's back in Perth already) but, my best friend came back for holiday from Perth, and we finally met up! Celebrated her 21st birthday at Kith Cafe, Robertson Quay. Apparently, on her 21st Birthday, she decided to surprise everybody by being back her in Singapore, which I only found out from Instagram. Being out of town on a holiday made me miss that absolutely touching moment, at that particular point in time, I was super upset that I wasn't in town to celebrate her birthday.

Fast-forward to me being back, we met up the weekend I touched down after my 2 week holiday and went for brunch. Sorry for the lack of food pictures, I gobbled up my food when I got it because I was too hungry, after checking instagram, I realised my bestfriends didn't take photos too.

The food there was pretty pricey and honestly, not as good as places like Hatched even. The robertson quay branch was small and seating was only outside, table was honestly tiny and could only seat 2, even though combining tables was suppose to make it bigger, the plates were obviously huge as well.

The menu was on this huge blackboard at the counter, which makes it a little tough to check the menu out, not to forget, the HEAT you can feel whilst ordering your meal, is totally insane! I do pity the waiters and waitresses there because that place literally does not feel like it has ventilation on the inside! Then again, maybe the other outlets might be better.

Happy 21st Birthday Best! (Belated, OVER belated) The past half a year was probably the worst period you've been through, the goodbyes that you've said, the getting used to a new place and everything else. I would like to say that "I feel you", but I honestly don't, I haven't been put through what you've gone through, all the heartbreaks, all the roller-coaster rides, just here to let you know that whatever you're going through, I'll always be here for you. Although you're in another country, we always have Whatsapp and FaceTime, I would always hear what you have to say. Through the quarrels and the fights, our friendship has been kept strong, like what you say, "tough love is true love". It makes me happy that we still have random chats through whatsapp, because the distance doesn't stop the friendship. Stay strong best.

Met up with the girls when I came back from my holiday weeks ago. No idea why, but we decided on an expensive meal at P.S cafe. It's probably the fact that we've all graduated, and I guess your spending power increases when you have a job (although I don't, I only have my boyfriend). It's fascinating how time passes so fast, how the topic of conversations change so quickly as well.

Being art students, we used to bitch and moan about how tough being an art student was, how school was fun, but kind of sucked at the same time. Our love-hate relationship with lecturers, friends, and even school management (everyone seems to have problems with school managements). Growing up, happens so quickly, too quickly, there isn't even enough time to really stop and think, what you want in life, what went wrong in life, what could be done better, just millions of questions that could be asked, just does not happen.

What I totally love about my friends is their sense of humour, and the fact that my boyfriend is able to communicate with them. I guess a little humour goes a long way, also, it's the best way to break some ice. That's also why I love this bunch of friends, they made me a more humorous person, a more independent person, they made me who I am now. 4 years was long way to go, and throughout the tough years, they were there for me.

 Working life is going to make everything different.

Just the other day, I went out with my girlfriend and Ian, just to hang out because final assessment was over, and job hunting was just the beginning. We settled for 4 Fingers Crispy Chicken at Ion, B4, for dinner because Ian said it was well raved about online, so we decided to give it a try.

Honestly I got a shock because of the price of the set meals that they were offering, $10 for the set meal shown below. 3 chicken drumlets, fries and a small cup of soft drink. There are choices for the flavours of the chicken drumlets, spicy, soy or garlic if I'm not wrong. I have to say they were pretty yummy, the spicy (the ones I had), were not overly spicy, just nice not to make your stomach burn. The skin was REALLY crispy, which is what everyone looks for, and the meat inside is not too dry. However, the flavour was only in the skin, and if you didn't manage to get some meat along with the skin you bite off, the chicken tastes really plain.



Loved the packaging though, it's really cute and innovative. The place was really packed so it was rather tough to get a seat there, the queue was also really long because they only had one counter. However, I think the kitchen crew is pretty fast on the orders, so kudos to that! You don't have to wait too long if you're feeling hungry.

I think it's really expensive if you compare them to like buffalo wings or something. Although the chicken might be bigger than normal, it's still very steep on price. I'm really only marking it down because of the price, being some sort of fast-food like, I think the price for the smaller set meals should be much lower than what it is.

What I do love about food like these, insanely nice flavourful MSG. Unhealthy as it already is, MSG is what makes these food taste good.

To sum this up, I'm probably not going to go back to 4 fingers crispy chicken unless their prices go down a little. By a little, I mean like, I'm okay if it was $7 or $8, because at $10, breaking it down, each chicken is about $2, like SERIOUSLY!?!??! I don't know how many chicken wings I can get at the market for $2. I know rental at Ion is expensive and all, but $10 for a small set meal I feel is way too overpriced.

On a random note, my friends were so cute because they were encouraging me to take photos and review this on my blog. We were talking about the skin, how crispy it was, the texture of the chicken, and the price of it. I love how encouraging my friends are.

Came from my 2 best friends, something I urgently needed because I ran out of foundation already, and coincidentally, I was searching to buy the Chanel foundation. It wasn't really coincidental though, because best texted my sister to find out which colour matched my tone and all. And best, being who she was, really blur, contacted my sister SOOOO many times. It was hilarious. Thank you the both of you, my secondary school life wouldn't be as exciting and fun if not for the 2 of you.

I LOVE IT!!!!!!!"Boyfriend: "Okay. My heart just stopped for awhile, cause I don't know if you'll like it."

I not just simply liked it, I LOVED IT!!!!! It's super expensive, but also, I've had my eyes on a Ferragamo for quite awhile already, but because the wallet I was using was not in a bad condition, I didn't have a reason to buy a new wallet.

And the thing was, I never told him I've had my eyes set on a Ferragamo wallet. The last time I went shopping with my bestfriends, I went to have a peek at the wallets, but never did I mention it again. And he just went to get me one. Feeling super touched and blessed once again, as I type this.


He heard that we've lost our S.E.A Aquarium tickets (but didn't get updates that we later found them back), and thoughtfully bought us a pair of tickets! I totally appreciate the thought, because although he was so busy with army, he still managed to get us a present. So, if you're reading, thank you for being such a sweet friend, and I totally appreciate it. More free entry to places!!!!!!

A deep thank you to all you favourite people for attending both boyfriend's and my birthday celebration. We love all of you! 

My 21st birthday, boyfriend's and oldest sister birthday brunch with the family! My sister bought us groupon deal to have brunch at outback steakhouse, Millenia Walk, in celebration of our birthdays! All the April babies in the family. The food there was... Just pretty alright. Maybe it's because of the deal, because I always think that everywhere in Singapore shortchanges you whenever you try to get something cheaper out of them (normally true). Prove to me it's not true. Like how sometimes people buy deals to go for some expensive place to get a haircut, then they would eventually complain that the service isn't good and so on. It's only because you aren't paying the full price.

I think Singapore runs on "you get what you pay for" mindset. Don't have high expectations if you want to be cheap-skate here in Singapore. In fact, I think it applies to everywhere! Whether it's a holiday and you're searching for cheap lodgings, don't expect them to be like 5 star hotels, or a place that serves cheap food. It's definitely a plus factor if these cheap places have great service or food, but if they don't, don't trash them so badly.

I digress.

So I was saying, the food there wasn't so bad. But then my family got a table right next to the side door. Which was really weird because if people came in from that door, their handbags would hit your head, or they would hit you or kick your chair. When you go to places like these, notice where their side doors are, and never land yourself a table there. Not forgetting, my sister actually already made a reservation there for the brunch, but our table wasn't even reserved.




My favourite sister in the world. The most giving and loving one as well. Although everyone in my family has the most different characters, somehow we've survived living together. We fought a lot when we were younger, but we grow up loving each other more and more.

Despite the blurriness, I love this photo because it goes to show how my boyfriend makes me feel. Happy all the time, and comfortable with whatever I do.

What we had for brunch was, Eggs Benedict, traditional english muffins topped with smoked leg ham, streaky bacon, gently poached eggs & creamy Hollandaise sauce ($16) and Eggs Royale, traditional english muffins topped with smoked Norwegian salmon, gently poached eggs & creamy Hollandaise sauce ($16). What made it perfect was TWG's French Earl Grey tea and Cafe Latte for boyfriend.

You can check out their menu, all day breakfast is from 9.30am to 5.00pm. And they have a pretty wide range of brunch items and if you fancy, you can add whatever toppings you like.

All in all, it was a lovely brunch I had with boyfriend. We enjoyed the view and the rich hollandaise sauce, and ended the day with the 50m stroll alongside the parking bay and had a great couple take two polaroids for us. In return, I gave them two polaroid shots as well.

A couple of weeks back, boyfriend and I finally got down to trying strictly pancakes, could only convince him because he wasn't that hungry. Everybody's been raving about strictly pancakes and all, but really, I think it could have gone better. Overall I think it's pretty pricey for the customise-your-own-pancake.

Firstly, boyfriend and I ordered the triple pancakes with bacon and sauté mushroom, alongside salted butter and garlic butter. It was a simple dish, and honestly, something anyone could make at home if you really bothered to make. Though really, thumbs up for how soft and fluffy the pancake was.

And if you order what I ordered, don't make a mistake by ordering the salted butter. Honestly, I don't really fancy garlic because of it's taste. But I really like garlic bread because overall it tastes good, and for this instance, take the garlic butter. It adds on fragrance to the pancake and the bacon and the sauté mushroom. Salted goodness altogether.

Then again, I highly suspect that people normally go to strictly pancakes for their dessert pancakes.

I would give them a second chance and try their dessert pancakes the next time around, but probably it'd be on a trip with girls.



Casual pizza dinner with boyfriend at pepperoni.

We ordered a large pizza which was meant for 2-3 people, I ate 2 or 3 slices and boyfriend cleared the rest (I'm a small eater, if you can't already tell). Half pizza of goodness that we LOVE, Funghi additional anchovies, because we didn't like the anchovies choice pizza which had black olives and capers. Other half was my favourite parma ham with rocket salad.

I'm an absolute lover of parma ham, so I'd try parma ham wherever I go. I'd love to go Italy one day and have all the parma ham with rock melon. I've had some pretty awful parma ham dishes here before, I vaguely remember it at an italian restaurant with a rock melon that wasn't sweet.

All in all, pizza parties deserve to be held at pepperoni pizzeria, especially the Zion outlet because it's so cosy and zen (quiet party I suppose).

The thing about yu sheng is that, NO ONE tosses it clean. So the smartest way of not wasting food, is to put a gigantic CLEAN plastic sheet beneath the plate you're going to toss your yu sheng on, and eat off whatever that gets onto the plastic sheet!

CNY has officially ended, so we're all officially into our new year already, and not to forget, 2 months has already passed. As we grow older, time seems to pass so much faster than we realise.
